Corporate Co-mentoring for the New Millennium
Innovative Coaching Strategies for the Global Marketplace. A two-day workshop for high level executives in leadership development

This program consists of a unique and original approach which resembles Corporate Coaching, but follows a different orientation. The course applies Organizational Learning Disciplines and related "systems-oriented" models to the process of Mentoring, and Co-Mentoring in the workplace. It is presented as an alternative to traditional corporate coaching programs, but complimentary, and can be used as an additional resource to coaching.

Workshop Content

This workshop provides pragmatic solutions to organizational needs, usefully combining theory and practice. Over the two-day period, content will run the gamut of organizational issues. The primary focus is to learn and implement skills that resemble and surpass ordinary coaching techniques. When people learn and practice together, a sense of team building and community develops that can lead to a greater shared vitality about intended outcomes. Dr. Peter Senge's Five Disciplines, as well as other useful organizational learning models are integrated into the program.

The program also contains a unique set of questions which function autonomously, as teaching tools for training new mentors/coaches, while integrating Organizational Learning tools within the process of listening and questioning. The premise is that transformational work can occur as a byproduct of asking the right “Question,” as well as from Reflection, and Listening.

Leadership Courses and Corporate Training Programs
Nold Corporate Leadership Programs can be custom developed to your organization’s needs.

Above all, the context of the whole system of organizational learning is the focus of this work. Among some of the learning principles which are emphasized, listening skills are encouraged, with special attention given to the importance of reflection as part of one’s fast paced work life. Other sources of transformation in the Organizational Learning context include action learning, learning to ask the right questions so as to achieve desired outcomes, and developing the tools for personal mastery. Also, standard goal-setting techniques and healthy communication practices are often included.

Leader's Journey I
Goals, Expectations and Outcomes of an Organizational Learning Culture

The workshop covers individual and group experience of reflection, examination of prevalent patterns of behavior and attitudes, "learning history" and dialogue. This course is an exploration of the "Leader's Journey," a variation of the "Hero's Journey" prototype, first developed by Joseph Campbell. All of Senge's "Five Disciplines" of Organizational Learning are applied at each stage of the process:

  • Personal Mastery
  • Shared Vision
  • Team Learning
  • Mental Models
  • Systems Thinking

Other Organizational Learning principles are also integrated into this program.

The Leader's Journey II
An advanced course in designing your Organizational Learning teams and systems

This course is custom styled for each organization and builds upon the first course. "Shared Vision," and "Team Learning" are emphasized. In courses "I" and "II," Reflection and After-Action Reviews are utilized, and innovative improvements to the current system or patterns of behavior are encouraged.

Myth and Ritual in the Organization
Explorations into your own personal and/or corporate mythology

This course covers what works, what needs to be updated or re-invented. Mythology is viewed as "Mental Models," and as a doorway to further enhancing "Personal Mastery" and group mastery for achievement of goals and reflection. Understanding the importance of mythology, and particularly the use of "Origin Myths' or Origin Stories™ as learning tools is emphasized. Dr. Nold has introduced the unique concepts of applying "Origin Myths" or Origin Stories™ to each organization's learning history and dynamics. This program is also custom fitted for the needs of the organizational culture and for specific groups and selected issues.

About Dr.Nold

"Projects, services and ideas sometimes tend to repeat the same patterns, recycle and people ask, 'Why does this always happen?' When a group or an idea seems to stray from core values, telling a story about the original inspiration can recapture the essential purpose behind the goal. Origin Stories™ illuminate us about who we are and why we do what we do.”
